Good Day. I am Steven A. Shapiro, PMP, PMI-ACP. I am a credentialed Project Management Professional and an Agile Certified Professional. I work for AT&T in the role of Senior-Technical Process/Quality. I am also an MBA candidate, about to graduate, from the Jack Welch Management InstPitute through Strayer University. Lastly, I am a founding volunteer member of the Project Management Institute Social Media Advisory Group, where I am part of a five member team that advises the global organization on Social Media.
Now, I say all that to say this – I have a bit of knowledge when it comes to leadership, but even having spent the last two years learning practically directly from one of the greatest business leaders who ever lived, Jack Welch, himself, I am on a journey that will never end. Leadership is not a destination. It is not something you reach a certain point and then say, “Okay, I’m finished, I have it now, thanks.” No, one is constantly learning and evolving, or at least should be. So that, then is a measure in and of itself. If any individual charged to lead you, ever feels like they have reached a point where they know everything, run as fast as you can the other way.
This site will serve as a blog for me to share my leadership journey with you. I will be blogging about how I am applying Jack’s principles to my daily work; both professionally and in my volunteer efforts.
